Community Over Competition

Not everyone is excited to see you succeed, and that’s okay.

My father showed up to help this weekend. That meant something. He may have been promoted with his own Deez Mats Security shirt. Sometimes simply showing up says more than words ever could, and that’s more than I can say for a lot of people who have been close to me.

It was also great seeing Mike Pietro. He’s been in my corner before, and I don’t take that kind of support for granted.

This business has become about much more than making cool swag. It’s about bringing people together, creating conversations, and doing my small part to lift the image of East Haven. I want to be another creative voice helping showcase everything that’s good about this town.

East Haven supporting an East Haven native. That means a lot.

One lesson from the weekend: when I have my son with me at an event, I need to give myself an extra 45 minutes to get set up. Every event teaches me something new.

The feeling never gets old when someone genuinely appreciates something I created with my own hands. I’ve always been a man of service, helping people solve problems. Selling products that came from an idea in my head and became something people are excited to own is still a new feeling, and it’s one I’ll never take for granted.

Most of all, I’m grateful for everyone who has encouraged, inspired, and believed in me along the way, especially the people in my life recently. I wouldn’t be here without you. I appreciate you.

I’ll keep betting on myself. I’ll keep investing my own money into these projects because I believe in what we’re building. I know what we have, and I know we’re ahead of the curve.

Sometimes you can tell when the underdog is about to win the race.
