Reflections From Today’s Market
Today’s market had me reflecting on a few things.
When you’re facing adversity and opposition, look it straight in the eyes and say, “Bring it.” Challenges are part of the journey. You can either let them break you or let them build you. Eric Thomas preaches, “It’s not about the product, it’s about the process” and those words stick with me today.
Something I’m constantly reminded of is don’t burn bridges. You never know who you’ll cross paths with again or what opportunities and friendships may come from a connection down the road. It was nice to share many laughs today.
Another lesson that keeps proving itself true is that strangers will often be some of your biggest supporters. Not everyone in your circle is going to be as excited about your business, hobby, or passion as you are, and that’s okay. Sometimes the people cheering you on, buying your products, sharing your work, and encouraging you are people you’ve never met before. I will never take that support for granted.
And today reminded me that vending isn’t just about making sales.
It’s about helping people, sharing knowledge, and connecting with others who have similar interests. It’s seeing someone stop to read one of my mats, chuckle, or take a picture. It’s meeting new people, representing the community in a positive way, handing out stickers to kids and treats to dogs.
Those moments make it worth it.
Of course, making sales is great, but even on days if I don’t sell a thing, I can go home knowing I made someone’s day a little better, had a few good conversations, and contributed something positive to the community. That’s a win all day.
I did make a few sales today, which makes the day that much sweeter. Every sale helps keep the Deez Mats vision alive and moving forward. To everyone who stopped by, showed support, shared a laugh, bought a mat, grabbed a sticker, or simply had a conversation, thank you. It all means more than you know.
